There is a place in Zurich, away from the central streets, that looks coming straight out of a fairy tale. Bits & Bobs is a boutique opened by Tania Bisaz 6 years ago, after carefully considering the idea to launch her own business.
This lovely shop is full of home accessories, stationery, jewellery pieces, special souvenirs, party decorations… and is one of the few places in Zurich where you can find a very trendy selection of design goods. From shabby chic to the Scandinavian look, having now a more Miami/L.A. oriented style, the boutique is continuously evolving, keeping up with the newest trends in the lifestyle industry. Tania started by selling objects that she personally loves. “The selection of products is still the most fun part of the job”, says Tania. “I can start visualizing the products in my boutique even before placing any order”. Tania had very supportive friends and family when opened the boutique. Just think about the place itself: it was partly renovated and set up by Tania, her relatives and friends. It was a real teamwork!
The first days were a bit though but now she can rely on three employees, a flourishing community of clients, local designers and a growing online shop. Speaking of which, we asked her to give us some shopping tips for this summer. A must-have are the products by Ban.do, a Los Angeles-based brand that creates very colorful and girlish gifts and accessories, and the postcards made by UK-based designer Katie Leamon. We are particularly in love with the ones with flamingos and pineapples: they are perfect presents for your friends all over the world. If you are more into jewellery and you are looking for local brands, have a look at the rings by Atelier Coquet and the necklaces created by Nina Bee. If you are in Zurich for your holidays drop by Bits & Bobs. The place is definitely worth a visit and you can recharge your batteries surrounded by colorful accessories and goodies. Have fun! Please remember that the boutique will be closed from 18th July to 8th August.
